WEFATHERM PP-R Installation should only be undertaken by suitably qualified and experienced installers. It is vital that WEFATHERM technical guidelines are followed and that only WEFATHERM welding devices and tools are used for the welding of the WEFATHERM System.
Socket Fusion Jointing
Socket fusion jointing is a quick and easy method for the jointing of your WEFATHERM PP-R Installation. With Socket Fusion jointing the pipe end and fitting socket are heated to the required fusion temperature using a welding device and then pushed together. Once cooled the result is a fully fused homogenous joint.
Butt Fusion Jointing
Butt Fusion jointing is the preferred method for the jointing of larger diameter WEFATHERM PP-R Installations. With Butt Fusion jointing pipes and fittings are heated to the required fusion temperature and jointed by means of mechanical pressure using a butt fusion machine. Once cooled the result is a fully fused homogenous joint.
Electro Fusion Jointing
Electrofusion jointing offers a means of WEFATHERM PP-R Installation where limited space makes jointing via socket fusion or butt fusion impractical. An electrofusion coupler is utilised that incorporates an electrical heating coil in the socket of the fitting. Pipe is pushed into the socket and an electrofusion machine is connected to the fitting, heating the coil until fusion temperature is reached. The material around the coil melts as does the surface of the pipe and upon cooling forms a fully fused homogenous joint.
